Fin Bank

History & Mission

FinBank S.A was incorporated in the year 2000 as a leasing company operating under the name Finalease. In the year 2003, it was converted into a fully-fledged commercial bank and changed its name to FinBank s.a ("FB"). Following a successful growth period, FinBank s.a attracted the attention of Access Bank Plc ("AB"), incorporated in Nigeria, which acquired a controlling stake in FB in 2008. Under Access Bank, FinBank’s business focus was in corporate banking and leveraged on the experience of its parent company to upscale its internal processes and policies to International Standards..

At the beginning of the year 2014, Access Bank Plc divested its interest in the bank to Dillux S.A, an Investment Company incorporated in Mauritius with diverse interests and knowledge of different sectors in East Africa and the Great Lakes region.

FinBank s.a currently has a branch network of 5 branches, of which 4 are located in the Central Business District of Bujumbura and 1 in the up-country (Gitega region). The bank is expanding into the retail market segment whilst growing its corporate business.

FinBank’s expansion into retail business is driven by the need to provide access to financial services to the marginalized areas in Burundi – and eventually the Great Lakes region, that are economical, efficient and reliable, by employing innovative solutions run by technology and robust business processes.

Vision: "To be the most efficient and innovative financial service provider in the great lakes region".

Mission: " To promote enterprise and wealth creation to all our customers and stakeholders through a dedicated and fulfilled work-force".
